The entrance to Soberness Canyon Trail is located off HWY1, 6.3 miles south of Rio Rd. It's part of Garrapata State Park. There's plenty of parking, however please be cautious when pulling in & out, as it's a busy "tourist" section of the road.

The trail works it's way into the towering redwoods and begins to subtlety climb.
Here is the only point along the trail in which you need to make a decision. You eventually arrive at the same place, however if you take the trail to the right, you will continue along Sobranes creek and be treated to a few small waterfalls for your trouble.
